새싹이 돋아나
From ten-der stem hath sprung!
옛 선지 노래대로
Of Je-se's lin-eage com-ing
장미꽃 피었다
As men of old have sung.
한 추운 겨울 밤 주 탄생하신 이 날
It came, a flower-et bright, A-mid the cold of win-ter,
거룩한 날이여
When half spent was the night.

2. 이사야 예언 대로 어리신 우리 주
I-sai-ah 't was fore-told it, The Rose I have in mind,
동정녀 마리아의 몸 빌려 나셨다
With Ma-ry we be-hold it, The Vir-gin Moth-er kind.
탄생한 아기는 영원한 구세주라
To show God's love a-right, She bore to men a Sav-iour,
참 기쁜 날이여
When half spent was the night.

3. 그 부드러운 향기
This flower, whose fragrance ten-der
온 하늘 채우고
With sweet-ness fills the air,
그 영광 찬란한 빛
Dis-pels with glo-rious splen-dor
어둠을 쫓았다
The dark-ness eve-ry-where.
참신과 참사람 우리를 구하셨다
True Man, yet ver-y God, From sin and death He saves us
영광의 날이여
And light-ens eve-ry load.
