설교 찬송생활의 능력 (행 16:16-40)

지난 주 우리는 "기도생활의 능력"을 들었습니다.
기도는 능력이 있습니다. 그런데 능력 있는 기도는 바로 ‘나의 기도’입니다. 다른 누가 드리는 기도가 아니라, 바로 내가 드리는 기도 말입니다. 적어도 “내게 임하는 능력”은 “나의 기도”라는 창문을 통해 들어오는 것입니다.
Prayer has power. And the powerful prayer is that I pray. It is not anybody's but mine that has power. The very power to me comes through the window of my prayer.
나는 요즘 한 가지 “기도”라는 생각에 사로잡혀 있습니다. 일평생 기도로 살아오신 부모님 곁에서 지낼 수 있는 은혜를 누리고 있습니다. 일주일에 두 차례 부모님의 집에서 지내면서 병구완을 해 드리고 있습니다.
These days, I have been possessed by a thought of prayer. I have been blessed staying with my parents couple of nights a week.
그런데, 다시금 느끼는 것은, 그분들의 기도생활의 깊이입니다. 밤 12시면 일어나 한 시간 반을 기도하고 다시 잠드시는 아버지. 나는 아직 그분의 기도를 반에 반도 따라가지 못합니다.
Again, their depth of prayer has surprised me very much. My father wakes up midnight and pray couple of hours. I cannot follow his prayer even by a quarter.
어렴풋이 생각나는 것인데, 듣기로는 젊으셨을 때 아버지는 산에서 새벽에 기도를 하셨다고 했습니다. 그런데, 공동묘지가 가까이 있어서, 어쩌다 지나가는 사람들의 간담을 떨어뜨렸다는 말을 들었습니다.
I remember someone said that my father when he was young prayed in mountain late in the night. His prayer site was near graves so that some passing by were surprised.
어머니의 간절한 기도를 어떻게 따라잡을 수 있을까요? 그 약한 몸에 수도 없이 금식기도를 했습니다. 도시락을 두 개씩 싸서 학교 다니던 때, 어머니는 맛도 보지 않고 아침밥과 도시락을 해 주셨습니다.
What about my mother? Weak and sick, she used to have fasting prayer very often. Having cooked more than three times a day including several lunch boxes, she cooked without tasting.
오산리 기도원에 여러 차례 함께 기도하러 가곤 했습니다. 한번은 20일 금식기도를 마친 어머니를 부축하고 산을 내려온 적도 있습니다. She and I used to visit the Mt. Osan Prayer Center. One day, I helped her coming down after her 20 days fasting prayer.
나는 또한 누님의 기도에 힘입고 있습니다. 일평생 기도하면서 살아온 분입니다.
I also owe the tearful prayer of my sister, Min. Eun Sook Kang. She has been a woman of prayer.
아내 또한 기도의 사람입니다. 때때로 거실 바닥에 무릎 꿇고 앉아 뜨거운 눈물과 함께 기도하는 모습은 참으로 놀라움 그 자체입니다. 그처럼 순수하고 깨끗한 기도의 사람을 아내로 만나 함께 살아가고 있다는 것은, 이 자체로 복입니다.
My wife prays a lot. From time to time I saw her praying some hours without stop at the living room, kneeling down, with tears. I believe that living with her as her husband itself is blessing.
돌아보면, 나는 기도에 빚진 사람입니다. 이건 너무나 분명한 사실입니다.
Looking back, I have been indebted by prayers. This is very clear.
여태까지는 이 모든 것을 어쩌면 당연하게 생각해왔습니다. 때로 감사하기도 했고, 또 자랑스러워하기도 했습니다.
I have regarded myself good enough to deserve it. Sometimes I thanked them, and had been proud of them.
그런데, 최근 내 마음을 무겁게 누르는 것이 있습니다. 어머니가 위급한 상황을 맞이하고, 아버지조차 응급실에 실려 가시는 요즘, 나는 언제고 이처럼 기도하는 부모님을 잃을 수도 있다는 사실을 충격과 함께 떠올리게 된 것입니다.
In these days, however, I have been thinking of something different. As my mother met some critical moments with the third heart attack, and my father was hospitalized with extraordinary fever, I had to shockingly think of losing them someday.
내 마음 속에 차오르는 생각은 이런 것입니다: “이제 더 이상 부모님의 기도를 의지해서는 안 된다. 그럴 수가 없다. 아니, 그럴 수 있다고 해도, 이제는 더 이상 안 된다. 이분들이 살아있는 동안에 기도에 독립하자! 내 누님이나 아내의 기도를 의지해서 갈 수 없다. 나의 기도를 드려야 한다. 하나님은 내 기도를 받으시길 원하신다!”
The strongest thought in my mind is: "I cannot rely on their prayer. I must not to. I need to be independent while they are still alive. I cannot live longer relying on the prayer of my sister and my wife. I have to pray my own prayer. God wants to get my prayer!"
한편 생각하면, 편안함에서 벗어나야 하는 부담이기도 합니다. 그렇지만, 이제 나는 내 기도가 필요합니다. 나는 그분들이 나누어 줄 수 없는 ‘내 문제’가 있습니다. 내 인생의 숙제가 있습니다. 이건 바로 내 기도를 통해 해결되어야 할 문제입니다.
On the one hand, it is a stress for me to come out of the comfort. But now I need my own prayer. I have my problem that they cannot share. I have my own homework. This is to be managed with my own prayer.
하나님께서 일상생활의 부담을 통하여 무겁게 나의 어깨를 누르시고, 이제 말씀 하십니다: “너다. 이제 네가 기도할 차례다. 너의 문제를 놓게 네가 기도해라! 더 이상 기도의 어린아이가 되지 말라!”
Using daily pressure, God talks to me: "It is you. It is your turn to pray. Don't stay where you have been!"
내 기도가 나를 변화시킵니다. 나는 이것을 믿습니다. 그렇습니다. 내 기도가 나를 도전하여 변화시킵니다.
I believe that my prayer changes me. Yes. My prayer challenges me.
이 시간, 나는 금문인 여러분에게 당부 드립니다. 여러분은 누구의 기도를 의지합니까? 아직도 믿음에 굳게 서지 못했습니까? 그분들은 여러분의 문제를 다 이해하지 못합니다. 그냥 안타까워 기도할 뿐입니다. 여러분의 문제를 구체적으로 하나님께 말씀드리십시오.
Now, let my ask you. Whose prayer have you been relying on? They do not understand your problem. Ask God for your own detailed issues.
담임목사님의 기도를 의지합니까? 제발 그러지 마십시오. 이제까지 말씀드리지 않았습니까? 나도 부모님의 기도에 신세지고 있었다고.
Do you rely on your pastor? Please do not! Haven't I not said to you?: I myself have been relying on my parents.
여러분의 기도의 몫은 여러분의 것입니다. 깊은 기도를 위해서는 수요예배에 나오십시오. 새벽예배에 나오십시오.
You are responsible for your own life. For deeper prayer, come to Wednesday worship and Saturday early morning worship.
물론 수요예배와 새벽예배 나오는 성도들이 여러분을 위해 기도해 주기는 합니다. 그러나 그 기도는 충분하지가 못합니다. 당부합니다. 기도예배에 나오십시오. 그리고 여러분 자신의 기도를 하나님께 드리십시오. 그리고 능력을 힘입으십시오. 능력 없는 그리스도인의 삶은 여태까지로 족합니다. 더 이상 이렇게 살아가려고 하지 마십시오.
Of course, the saints attending those services would pray for you. But the prayer is not good enough. I ask each of you to come on Wednesday and Saturday. Pray your own prayer to your God. And get the power. Your life without power is sufficient by now. Do not attempt to live this way any longer.
바로 이 점을 오늘 나는 ‘찬양’과 연결시키려고 합니다. 찬양, 찬송, 찬미 등은 모두 한 가지 뜻입니다. 우리를 구원하신 하나님을 찬양 드리는 것입니다.
This morning, I want to connect this point of prayer with the praise. We praise the Lord who saved us.
그런데, 기도와 찬송은 함께 갑니다. 흔히 말하듯, 찬송은 '곡조 있는 기도'입니다.
Prayer and praise go together. As often said, praise is prayer with melody.
공교롭게도 지난주와 이번 주의 배경은 '감옥'입니다. 지난주는 사도 베드로의 경우였습니다. 오늘은 사도 바울과 실라의 경우입니다.
The background of the sermons of last week and today is jail. Last week, it was Peter; this week Paul and Silla.
감옥생활은 사람이 생각할 수 있는 최악의 상황입니다. 감시받으면서 하루하루 지내야 한다는 것은 비극입니다.
Jail seems to be the worst situation, living under supervision.
그렇지만 바울과 실라는 거기서도 기도했습니다. 그리고 찬양을 드렸습니다. 지진이 났습니다. 이것은 단지 찬양과 지진이라는 두 개가 우연히 일치한 것을 말하지 않습니다. 찬양 소리를 통해 땅이 움직인 것입니다. 하나님께서 땅도 움직여 화답하게 하신 것입니다.
Paul and Silla, however, prayed and praised the Lord even in the jail. It happened earthquake. God moved the earth in the response to their praise.
간수는 자살하려고 했습니다. 죄수들을 놓쳤다면 마땅히 책임을 추궁당할 것이고, 그렇게 되면 식구들까지 위험하다고 판단했을 것입니다. 그래서 자기 하나 죽음으로써 책임을 면해 보려고 한 것입니다.
The guard attempted to commit suicide. He might have judged the responsibility of losing the prisoners be too strong to save his family. Instead, as he would kill himself, he must have attempted to save his family.
그러나 바울과 실라는 그 지진을 기회로 여겨 도망하지 않았습니다. 오히려 간수를 위로했습니다. 이 때 간수는 소리쳤습니다: “선생들아, 내가 어떻게 하여여 구원을 얻으리이까?” 여기서 ‘구원’은 영적인 구원을 반드시 말하지는 않는다고 생각할 수 있니다. 복음을 한 번도 들어 본 적이 없는 간수가 어떻게 영적인 구원을 말할까요? 그래서 ‘문제해결’을 말한다고 볼 수도 있습니다.
But Paul and Silla did not come out of the jail. Instead, they comforted the guard. And the guard shouted: "Brothers, what shall I do so that I could be saved?" Here, as some theologians guess, the 'salvation' may not mean the spiritual salvation. The guard did not hear about Jesus.
하지만 나는 여기서 ‘구원’이 ‘영적 구원’을 말한다고 생각합니다. 그러니까, “주 예수를 믿으라. 그리하면 너와 네 집이 구원을 얻으리라!” 하는 말씀에 단번에 주님을 영접할 수 있었던 것입니다.
But here I think the salvation of the guard implied the spiritual salvation. When Paul and Silla declared, accordingly, "Believe in Jesus the Lord and you and your family will be saved!" they welcomed Jesus as their Lord.
그 간수는 바울과 실라가 감옥 안에서 내내 기도하며 찬송하던 것을 보고 들었습니다. 그러니까, 저도 모르는 사이에 참된 구원의 삶에 대한 기본 이해가 생긴 것입니다.
The guard heard the prayer and praise of Paul and Silla. Unconsciously, therefore, he had the basic understanding about the salvation.
다시 말하면, 찬양과 기도로써 간수의 마음이 녹아 내렸습니다. 이것은 복음을 받아들이는 엄청난 ‘선 이해’가 되었습니다.
In other words, with the prayer and praise, the guard was touched, and it was the very preunderstanding for welcoming Jesus as the Lord.
오늘 하나님께서 오늘 말씀을 주시면서 감옥의 상황을 배경으로 삼으셨습니다. 그만큼 기도와 찬양의 능력을 분명하게 드러낼 것입니다. 어두운 밤을 배경으로 별들이 한층 빛나는 것과 마찬가지입니다.
Today, as He speaks to us, God set up the jail as its background so that the power of prayer and praise be highlighted. In the dark night, the stars shine more clearly.
찬송과 기도, 기도와 찬송은 함께 갑니다. 오늘 읽은 본문에 "밤중쯤 되어 바울과 실라가 기도하고 하나님을 찬미하매 죄수들이 듣더라"(25절) 했습니다. 죄수들이 들었으니까 간수도 들었을 것입니다.
Prayer and praise go together. In the night, when Paul and Silla prayed and praised the Lord, they heard them (v. 25). Every one in the jail heard them.
이제 오늘 본문 말씀이 우리의 삶에 주는 은혜를 여섯 가지로 나누어 말씀드립니다.
Now, I would like to mention six points of the grace that today's scripture gives us today.
1.
찬송은 그 자체로 기적입니다. Praise itself is miracle.
우리는 하나님을 찬양하는 은혜를 받았습니다. 은혜 없이는 찬양이 가능하지 않습니다. 생각할수록 절망적인 상황이 인생길입니다. 사람의 기본 정서는 절망이요 어둠입니다. 시기요 질투입니다. 그런데, 어떻게 찬양이 되겠습니까?
We have been blessed to praise the Lord. Without grace, no one can praise the Lord. Without grace, life is but a tragedy. The basic pathos of sinful humans are despair and darkness. How can humans open their mouths and praise the Lord?
하늘을 바라보는 삶으로 축복 받았습니다. 하늘을 볼 줄 모르면 찬양할 수 없습니다. 동물들이 찬양을 못하는 이유도 여기 있습니다. 그들은 하늘을 볼 줄 모릅니다.
We have been blessed to open our eyes and see the heaven. If not seeing the heaven, we cannot praise. Animals cannot; they do not see the heaven.
찬송은 그 자체로 기적입니다. 우리가 찬송할 수 있다면 이미 회복은 시작된 것입니다. 절망 가운데서도 찬양이 있다면 우리는 승리할 수 있습니다.
Praise itself is miracle. If we can praise, recovery is already started. If we can praise even in the failure, we can overcome.
한국에서 총각으로 목회할 때입니다. 어떤 건장한 청년과 함께 짐차를 몰고 길을 가던 밤중이었습니다. 갑자기 차가 진흙 창에 빠져 헤어 나오지 못하게 되었습니다. 두 시간 가까지 땀을 흘리며 수고했지만 아무런 진전이 나지를 않았습니다. 가까운 동네에 가서 삽을 빌어다가 이것저것도 다 해 보았지만 문제는 그대로였습니다.
It was when I ministered a church in a countryside in Korea. I was with a young man driving a pick-up truck, carrying church stuffs. All of a sudden, the vehicle was put into a mud hole. He and I did all the best over 2 hours for nothing. We borrowed some instruments from the near village. Everything was not changed.
갑자기 그 청년이 땅바닥에 주저앉았습니다. "전도사님, 앉으시지요?“ 안 호주머니에서 무얼 꺼냈습니다. 하모니카였습니다. 어둔 밤, 반딧불이 별똥처럼 흘러가는 깊은 시골 논둑길에 앉아 그 청년은 하모니카로 찬송을 연주했습니다. 나는 그 멜로디를 따라 찬양하기 시작했습니다. 그러자, 어찌된 일인지 걱정과 근심이 사라졌습니다.
The young man sat down and said to me, "Minister, please sit down here." He pulled out something from his bosom. It was harmonycar. He played some hymns in the deep night, insects flying and winds blowing. I followed his melody. And the worry and care were gone away!
언제 어떻게 우리가 그 차를 꺼냈는지 내 기억에는 전혀 없습니다. 어떻게 해서든 빠져나왔겠지요. 그러니까 내가 오늘 여기 있지 않습니까? 다만, 내 분명한 기억 속에는, 몇 시간을 고생하던 자리, 아무런 진전도 없던 자리에서 땅바닥에 퍼질고 앉아 불던 하모니카가 분명하게 남아 있습니다.
I do not remember who he and I pulled the vehicle out of the mud pot. To be sure, we did something! But I do not remember, because it was not that important! What left in my memory clearly is the harmonycar that he played in the time of trouble.
이후 나는 아무리 어려운 상황이 와도 찬양하면 이길 수 있다는 사실을 계속 경험하게 되었습니다.
After that I had a lesson that even if we are in trouble, with continual prayer, we could overcome eventually.
2.
또한 여러분의 찬송은 여러분의 삶을 변화시키는 능력이 있습니다.
찬송하면 마음이 밝아집니다. 여기 능력이 나타납니다.
Praise has power to change our life. As you pray, your hearts would be brighter and happier. It is the time of power working.
마음껏 웃어 본 일이 얼마나 있습니까? 그런데, 찬양을 드리노라면 마음껏 웃을 수 있게 됩니다.
When did you laugh heartily? As you praise, you could laugh deeply.
큰 지진이 났습니다. 옥 터가 움직였습니다. 문이 다 열리고, 사람들이 묶인 쇠사슬이 풀어졌습니다. 이런 것이 찬양을 통해 나타났습니다.
Big earthquake happened. The jail was shaken. All the gates were opened, and the chains were released. All those happened through praising the Lord.
상황이 변합니다. 태산 같은 문제가 해결됩니다. 정말 기적이 일어나는 것입니다. 실험해 보십시오.
Situation changes. Problems like a huge mountain resolved. Really, miracles happen. Why don't you try that?
바울과 실라가 경험한 더 큰 능력은 그가 자살하려는 간수에게 복음을 전한 것입니다.
The more surprising miracle is that Paul and Silla delivered the Gospel to the Roman guard.
사람을 변화시키는 것보다 더 큰 기적은 세상에 없습니다.
There is no bigger miracle than change humans.
3.
여러분의 찬송은 어떤 사람의 삶을 변화시킵니다.
Your praise changed other people's life.
어떤 남자가 자살하려고 밧줄을 들고 산으로 가고 있었습니다. 그런데, 산 밑에 있는 오두막집에서 무슨 소리가 들렸습니다. 무심결에 발걸음을 그리로 옮겼습니다. 그랬더니, 거기는 가난한 식구들이 저녁예배 중이었습니다. 은은한 찬송이 흘러나왔습니다.
A man was walking toward a mountain, carrying cable, to hang himself there. And at the bottom of the mountain, he heard a singing. Unconsciously, he turned his steps there. A poor family was worshipping the Lord. He heard the sweet hymns.
그는 문밖에서 예배가 다 끝날 때까지 우두커니 서 있었습니다. 그리고 발걸음을 돌렸습니다. 갈 곳이 생긴 것입니다. 집이었습니다.
He stopped there, staying the time of worship. At the end of the worship, he turned his head to home.
찬양이 한 사람의 생명을 살린 것입니다. 어디 그 한 사람뿐입니까? 그 사람의 가정을 살렸습니다.
Praise saved the life a man. It actually was more than that. It saved his family, too.
현실성이 없어 보입니까? 실제로 여러분이 절망 가운데 그렇게 걸어가다가, 찬송 소리를 듣게 되면 발걸음을 멈추게 될 것입니다. 자동입니다. 그리고 바로 그 찬송의 능력으로 자살충동이나 그 밖의 어떤 부정적인 감정도 다 깨끗이 사라져 버리게 될 것입니다.
You could examine that. In time of despair, hearing the voice of praising the Lord, you cannot but stop and hear. With the power of the hymn, any negative feeling including the depression would be disappeared.
우리의 찬양은 우리뿐 아니라 이름도 모르는 사람들에게 소망이 되고 있음을 알아야 하겠습니다.
We need to know that our praise opens the window of hope even for the unnamed people as well as ourselves.
4.
그런 기적의 찬양이 되기 위해서는 “당신의 찬양”이 되어야 합니다.
To make the praise of miracle, it should be "your praise."
내가 그 기적의 주인공이 되기 위해서는 ‘나의 찬양’을 드려야 합니다.
여기는 ‘나의 고백’이 들어 있습니다.
나의 하나님께, 바로 내가 드리는 찬양입니다.
Do you want to be the major figure in the miracle? Praise your own one to God. It contains your own confession. To your own God, you are supposed to praise.
기도를 해도 ‘나의 기도’가 되어야 하는 것처럼, 찬양도 ‘나의 찬양’이 되어야 합니다.
As the powerful prayer is your own prayer, the powerful praise comes from your own one.
찬양을 마음대로 들을 수 있는 시대를 살고 있습니다. 인터넷은 참 놀랍습니다. 그러나 찬양은 ‘자기가 불러야’ 자기 것이 됩니다. 생각만 하지 말고, 입을 열어 실천해 보시기 바랍니다.
Today, we can hear praise very easily, esp., through internet. But you need to sing for yourself so that it be yours. Don't just think but open your mouth.
평소에 나의 찬양이 될 수 있기 위해서는 “예배 시간에 소리 내어 부르는 훈련”이 되어 있어야 합니다.
Train yourself singing the praise in worship time.
그렇게 소리 내어 부르는 찬양은 ‘두려움’을 몰아냅니다. 어둔 밤길을 걸어갈 때, 누군가 함께 있으면 좋습니다. 힘이 됩니다. 심지어 어린아이라도 업고 가면 한결 낫습니다.
The praise drives fear away from you. Walking in the night, if you have someone with you, you will be empowered. Even carrying a baby on you back helps.
그런 어린아이도 없으면 어떻게 할까? 찬양하면 됩니다. 찬양은 어떤 사람이 줄 수 있는 힘보다 더 큰 능력을 줍니다.
What if there is no one? You could praise. Praise brings forth power much greater than any human being.
그냥 노래 불러서 얻는 심리적 위안 그런 정도가 아닙니다. 찬양하면 마귀가 물러갑니다. 마귀가 얼씬하지 못합니다. 대신 천사들이 동행합니다.
The power is not just like psychological comfort. As you praise, demons fall down. Instead, angels help you.
천사의 큰 기능 가운데 하나는 ‘찬양’하는 일입니다. 그러므로 우리가 찬양드릴 때, 천사가 우리 곁에 와서 ‘화음’을 넣어준다는 사실을 알아야겠습니다.
One of the most important functions of angels is to praise. We need to know, therefore, when we praise, angels come and empower us.
5.
찬양이 살아있는 예배를 드려야겠습니다.
We need to worship God with powerful praise.
예배는 삶의 핵심입니다. 예배에서 찬양이 회복되면, 삶에 찬양은 자연스럽게 나타납니다. 금문교회 예배의 찬양을 위해 기도하고 힘을 합해 주십시오. 여러분 중에 찬양에 달란트가 있거나, 마음이 뜨거운 분은 적극적으로 참여해 주십시오.
Worship is the core of life. If praise is powerful in your worship, praise will appear naturally in your life. Help church members in making gracious worship. Participate positively in worship with musical instrument or voice.
악기로, 목소리로, 찬양팀 저녁 한 끼 사 주는 것으로, 간식, 커피 준비해 주시는 것으로, 그렇게 참여해 주십시오.
You may join the musical teams with time, supporting meals, coffee, snacks, and so on.
찬양하는 일이 너무 좋고, 찬양을 통해 하나님께 영광을 돌려드리게 되면, 당신의 삶은 이미 성공입니다.
If you enjoy praising and glorify the Lord with the praise, your life is already successful.
찬양이 살아있는 금문교회 예배를 만들어 갑시다. Let us work together in making the beautiful church in praise.
6.
가장 귀한 것은 '항상성'을 지니고 있습니다. 따라서 찬양은 항상 드려야 합니다.
Most important and precious ones are not conditioned with time. Praise is to be made always.
때를 기다린다는 것은 동서고금을 막론하고 ‘지혜’에 속했습니다. 그러나 그것은 바른 태도가 아닙니다. 때는 우리의 것이 아니기 때문입니다.
Peoples in the East and the West have regarded waiting for time as wisdom. But it is not proper; time does not belong to humans.
“때와 기한은 너희의 알 바 아니요...” 이것이 예수님께서 주신 말씀입니다. 우리가 알 바가 아닌 것은 알 필요가 없습니다.
Jesus said, "Time and season are not of your control." We are not permitted to know about time.
가장 중요한 것은 우리가 기다려야 할 필요가 없습니다. 우리 곁에 있기 때문입니다. 속담에 “등잔 밑이 어둡다” 했습니다. 이것은 언제 어디서나 통하는 진리입니다. “하나님께서는 늘 곁에 계십니다.” 누구든지 예수님을 영접하기만 하면, 거기서부터 행복이 시작, 불행은 끝입니다.
We don't have to wait for most important things; they are near to us. Korean proverbs says, "It is darker under lamp." This is a truth covering any time and place. God is near to us always. At the very moment of welcoming Jesus, happiness starts and misfortune stops.
언제나 사랑입니다.
언제나 믿음입니다.
언제나 소망입니다.
Love is always; faith is endless; hope is forever.
항상 기뻐하라. 쉬지 말고 기도하라. 범사에 감사하라. 이 세 가지는 '항상성'입니다.
Have joy in all the times, pray continuously, give thanks in all circumstances. There is no time limit for these.
찬양도 항상성입니다.
언제든지 낙심하지 말아야 합니다.
늘 찬송하면서 주께 더 나가기 원합니다.
Praise is one of a kind. We shall not be disappointed at any circumstances. We want to go nearer to Jesus as we praise him.
바울과 실라는 심지어 감옥에서도 찬양했습니다.
그랬더니 '기적'이 일어났습니다.
Even in the jail, Paul and Silla praised the Lord; and they experienced the mirace.
기억하십시오: 찬송생활의 능력은 "기적"으로 나타납니다.
Remember, the power of praise comes to us as "miracle."
버클리의 어떤 마켓에서 내 아내는 입에 노래를 달고 있었습니다. 어떤 여자가 내내 따라왔습니다. 둘 다 의식이 없었습니다. 노래는 끝났고, 그 여자가 비로소 물었습니다. 누구냐고. 내가 왜 당신을 따라왔느냐고.
My wife was singing silently at a certain market in Berkeley. A woman followed my wife. Both were unconscious. Sone ended, and the woman asked my wife: who are you? Did you know why I followed you?
찬양이 낳는 것은 어떤 과학도 예측할 수 없는 놀라운 기적입니다.
과학은 똑같은 조건에서는 똑같은 결과를 얻을 수 있습니다.
그러나, 찬양생활은, 언제나 다른 조건에서도 찬양할 수 있습니다.
그러면, 늘 다른 결과가 나타납니다. 예상 밖의 기적입니다. 그런데 그 기적은 부정적인 것이 아닙니다. 늘 기쁘고 감사한 기적입니다.
What praise brings forth is miracle any science cannot expect. Science gets the same result at a same given circumstance. But you could praise the Lord the same in any different situations. And you could enjoy the grace of the Lord. The miracles you would enjoy will be very positive. You could give thanks for all circumstances.
나는 여러분이 입에 찬양을 달고 살기를 축복합니다. 아멘.
In Jesus' name, I bless you to live with the praise in your mouth all the time. Amen.
기도 Prayer
은혜와 사랑의 주님. 부족한 저희들의 입술에 찬양을 주시니 감사드립니다. 일평생 살면서 주님 앞에 온전한 예배를 드리게 하옵소서. 늘 찬양 드리며 승리하게 하옵소서. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘. O God of grace and love. We thank you for giving our lips the praise. Help us praise you through our lives. Make us overcome all the trouble and get victory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
축도 Benediction
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ our Lord, and the love of God our Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

기도는 능력이 있습니다. 그런데 능력 있는 기도는 바로 ‘나의 기도’입니다. 다른 누가 드리는 기도가 아니라, 바로 내가 드리는 기도 말입니다. 적어도 “내게 임하는 능력”은 “나의 기도”라는 창문을 통해 들어오는 것입니다.
Prayer has power. And the powerful prayer is that I pray. It is not anybody's but mine that has power. The very power to me comes through the window of my prayer.
나는 요즘 한 가지 “기도”라는 생각에 사로잡혀 있습니다. 일평생 기도로 살아오신 부모님 곁에서 지낼 수 있는 은혜를 누리고 있습니다. 일주일에 두 차례 부모님의 집에서 지내면서 병구완을 해 드리고 있습니다.
These days, I have been possessed by a thought of prayer. I have been blessed staying with my parents couple of nights a week.
그런데, 다시금 느끼는 것은, 그분들의 기도생활의 깊이입니다. 밤 12시면 일어나 한 시간 반을 기도하고 다시 잠드시는 아버지. 나는 아직 그분의 기도를 반에 반도 따라가지 못합니다.
Again, their depth of prayer has surprised me very much. My father wakes up midnight and pray couple of hours. I cannot follow his prayer even by a quarter.
어렴풋이 생각나는 것인데, 듣기로는 젊으셨을 때 아버지는 산에서 새벽에 기도를 하셨다고 했습니다. 그런데, 공동묘지가 가까이 있어서, 어쩌다 지나가는 사람들의 간담을 떨어뜨렸다는 말을 들었습니다.
I remember someone said that my father when he was young prayed in mountain late in the night. His prayer site was near graves so that some passing by were surprised.
어머니의 간절한 기도를 어떻게 따라잡을 수 있을까요? 그 약한 몸에 수도 없이 금식기도를 했습니다. 도시락을 두 개씩 싸서 학교 다니던 때, 어머니는 맛도 보지 않고 아침밥과 도시락을 해 주셨습니다.
What about my mother? Weak and sick, she used to have fasting prayer very often. Having cooked more than three times a day including several lunch boxes, she cooked without tasting.
오산리 기도원에 여러 차례 함께 기도하러 가곤 했습니다. 한번은 20일 금식기도를 마친 어머니를 부축하고 산을 내려온 적도 있습니다. She and I used to visit the Mt. Osan Prayer Center. One day, I helped her coming down after her 20 days fasting prayer.
나는 또한 누님의 기도에 힘입고 있습니다. 일평생 기도하면서 살아온 분입니다.
I also owe the tearful prayer of my sister, Min. Eun Sook Kang. She has been a woman of prayer.
아내 또한 기도의 사람입니다. 때때로 거실 바닥에 무릎 꿇고 앉아 뜨거운 눈물과 함께 기도하는 모습은 참으로 놀라움 그 자체입니다. 그처럼 순수하고 깨끗한 기도의 사람을 아내로 만나 함께 살아가고 있다는 것은, 이 자체로 복입니다.
My wife prays a lot. From time to time I saw her praying some hours without stop at the living room, kneeling down, with tears. I believe that living with her as her husband itself is blessing.
돌아보면, 나는 기도에 빚진 사람입니다. 이건 너무나 분명한 사실입니다.
Looking back, I have been indebted by prayers. This is very clear.
여태까지는 이 모든 것을 어쩌면 당연하게 생각해왔습니다. 때로 감사하기도 했고, 또 자랑스러워하기도 했습니다.
I have regarded myself good enough to deserve it. Sometimes I thanked them, and had been proud of them.
그런데, 최근 내 마음을 무겁게 누르는 것이 있습니다. 어머니가 위급한 상황을 맞이하고, 아버지조차 응급실에 실려 가시는 요즘, 나는 언제고 이처럼 기도하는 부모님을 잃을 수도 있다는 사실을 충격과 함께 떠올리게 된 것입니다.
In these days, however, I have been thinking of something different. As my mother met some critical moments with the third heart attack, and my father was hospitalized with extraordinary fever, I had to shockingly think of losing them someday.
내 마음 속에 차오르는 생각은 이런 것입니다: “이제 더 이상 부모님의 기도를 의지해서는 안 된다. 그럴 수가 없다. 아니, 그럴 수 있다고 해도, 이제는 더 이상 안 된다. 이분들이 살아있는 동안에 기도에 독립하자! 내 누님이나 아내의 기도를 의지해서 갈 수 없다. 나의 기도를 드려야 한다. 하나님은 내 기도를 받으시길 원하신다!”
The strongest thought in my mind is: "I cannot rely on their prayer. I must not to. I need to be independent while they are still alive. I cannot live longer relying on the prayer of my sister and my wife. I have to pray my own prayer. God wants to get my prayer!"
한편 생각하면, 편안함에서 벗어나야 하는 부담이기도 합니다. 그렇지만, 이제 나는 내 기도가 필요합니다. 나는 그분들이 나누어 줄 수 없는 ‘내 문제’가 있습니다. 내 인생의 숙제가 있습니다. 이건 바로 내 기도를 통해 해결되어야 할 문제입니다.
On the one hand, it is a stress for me to come out of the comfort. But now I need my own prayer. I have my problem that they cannot share. I have my own homework. This is to be managed with my own prayer.
하나님께서 일상생활의 부담을 통하여 무겁게 나의 어깨를 누르시고, 이제 말씀 하십니다: “너다. 이제 네가 기도할 차례다. 너의 문제를 놓게 네가 기도해라! 더 이상 기도의 어린아이가 되지 말라!”
Using daily pressure, God talks to me: "It is you. It is your turn to pray. Don't stay where you have been!"
내 기도가 나를 변화시킵니다. 나는 이것을 믿습니다. 그렇습니다. 내 기도가 나를 도전하여 변화시킵니다.
I believe that my prayer changes me. Yes. My prayer challenges me.
이 시간, 나는 금문인 여러분에게 당부 드립니다. 여러분은 누구의 기도를 의지합니까? 아직도 믿음에 굳게 서지 못했습니까? 그분들은 여러분의 문제를 다 이해하지 못합니다. 그냥 안타까워 기도할 뿐입니다. 여러분의 문제를 구체적으로 하나님께 말씀드리십시오.
Now, let my ask you. Whose prayer have you been relying on? They do not understand your problem. Ask God for your own detailed issues.
담임목사님의 기도를 의지합니까? 제발 그러지 마십시오. 이제까지 말씀드리지 않았습니까? 나도 부모님의 기도에 신세지고 있었다고.
Do you rely on your pastor? Please do not! Haven't I not said to you?: I myself have been relying on my parents.
여러분의 기도의 몫은 여러분의 것입니다. 깊은 기도를 위해서는 수요예배에 나오십시오. 새벽예배에 나오십시오.
You are responsible for your own life. For deeper prayer, come to Wednesday worship and Saturday early morning worship.
물론 수요예배와 새벽예배 나오는 성도들이 여러분을 위해 기도해 주기는 합니다. 그러나 그 기도는 충분하지가 못합니다. 당부합니다. 기도예배에 나오십시오. 그리고 여러분 자신의 기도를 하나님께 드리십시오. 그리고 능력을 힘입으십시오. 능력 없는 그리스도인의 삶은 여태까지로 족합니다. 더 이상 이렇게 살아가려고 하지 마십시오.
Of course, the saints attending those services would pray for you. But the prayer is not good enough. I ask each of you to come on Wednesday and Saturday. Pray your own prayer to your God. And get the power. Your life without power is sufficient by now. Do not attempt to live this way any longer.
바로 이 점을 오늘 나는 ‘찬양’과 연결시키려고 합니다. 찬양, 찬송, 찬미 등은 모두 한 가지 뜻입니다. 우리를 구원하신 하나님을 찬양 드리는 것입니다.
This morning, I want to connect this point of prayer with the praise. We praise the Lord who saved us.
그런데, 기도와 찬송은 함께 갑니다. 흔히 말하듯, 찬송은 '곡조 있는 기도'입니다.
Prayer and praise go together. As often said, praise is prayer with melody.
공교롭게도 지난주와 이번 주의 배경은 '감옥'입니다. 지난주는 사도 베드로의 경우였습니다. 오늘은 사도 바울과 실라의 경우입니다.
The background of the sermons of last week and today is jail. Last week, it was Peter; this week Paul and Silla.
감옥생활은 사람이 생각할 수 있는 최악의 상황입니다. 감시받으면서 하루하루 지내야 한다는 것은 비극입니다.
Jail seems to be the worst situation, living under supervision.
그렇지만 바울과 실라는 거기서도 기도했습니다. 그리고 찬양을 드렸습니다. 지진이 났습니다. 이것은 단지 찬양과 지진이라는 두 개가 우연히 일치한 것을 말하지 않습니다. 찬양 소리를 통해 땅이 움직인 것입니다. 하나님께서 땅도 움직여 화답하게 하신 것입니다.
Paul and Silla, however, prayed and praised the Lord even in the jail. It happened earthquake. God moved the earth in the response to their praise.
간수는 자살하려고 했습니다. 죄수들을 놓쳤다면 마땅히 책임을 추궁당할 것이고, 그렇게 되면 식구들까지 위험하다고 판단했을 것입니다. 그래서 자기 하나 죽음으로써 책임을 면해 보려고 한 것입니다.
The guard attempted to commit suicide. He might have judged the responsibility of losing the prisoners be too strong to save his family. Instead, as he would kill himself, he must have attempted to save his family.
그러나 바울과 실라는 그 지진을 기회로 여겨 도망하지 않았습니다. 오히려 간수를 위로했습니다. 이 때 간수는 소리쳤습니다: “선생들아, 내가 어떻게 하여여 구원을 얻으리이까?” 여기서 ‘구원’은 영적인 구원을 반드시 말하지는 않는다고 생각할 수 있니다. 복음을 한 번도 들어 본 적이 없는 간수가 어떻게 영적인 구원을 말할까요? 그래서 ‘문제해결’을 말한다고 볼 수도 있습니다.
But Paul and Silla did not come out of the jail. Instead, they comforted the guard. And the guard shouted: "Brothers, what shall I do so that I could be saved?" Here, as some theologians guess, the 'salvation' may not mean the spiritual salvation. The guard did not hear about Jesus.
하지만 나는 여기서 ‘구원’이 ‘영적 구원’을 말한다고 생각합니다. 그러니까, “주 예수를 믿으라. 그리하면 너와 네 집이 구원을 얻으리라!” 하는 말씀에 단번에 주님을 영접할 수 있었던 것입니다.
But here I think the salvation of the guard implied the spiritual salvation. When Paul and Silla declared, accordingly, "Believe in Jesus the Lord and you and your family will be saved!" they welcomed Jesus as their Lord.
그 간수는 바울과 실라가 감옥 안에서 내내 기도하며 찬송하던 것을 보고 들었습니다. 그러니까, 저도 모르는 사이에 참된 구원의 삶에 대한 기본 이해가 생긴 것입니다.
The guard heard the prayer and praise of Paul and Silla. Unconsciously, therefore, he had the basic understanding about the salvation.
다시 말하면, 찬양과 기도로써 간수의 마음이 녹아 내렸습니다. 이것은 복음을 받아들이는 엄청난 ‘선 이해’가 되었습니다.
In other words, with the prayer and praise, the guard was touched, and it was the very preunderstanding for welcoming Jesus as the Lord.
오늘 하나님께서 오늘 말씀을 주시면서 감옥의 상황을 배경으로 삼으셨습니다. 그만큼 기도와 찬양의 능력을 분명하게 드러낼 것입니다. 어두운 밤을 배경으로 별들이 한층 빛나는 것과 마찬가지입니다.
Today, as He speaks to us, God set up the jail as its background so that the power of prayer and praise be highlighted. In the dark night, the stars shine more clearly.
찬송과 기도, 기도와 찬송은 함께 갑니다. 오늘 읽은 본문에 "밤중쯤 되어 바울과 실라가 기도하고 하나님을 찬미하매 죄수들이 듣더라"(25절) 했습니다. 죄수들이 들었으니까 간수도 들었을 것입니다.
Prayer and praise go together. In the night, when Paul and Silla prayed and praised the Lord, they heard them (v. 25). Every one in the jail heard them.
이제 오늘 본문 말씀이 우리의 삶에 주는 은혜를 여섯 가지로 나누어 말씀드립니다.
Now, I would like to mention six points of the grace that today's scripture gives us today.
1.
찬송은 그 자체로 기적입니다. Praise itself is miracle.
우리는 하나님을 찬양하는 은혜를 받았습니다. 은혜 없이는 찬양이 가능하지 않습니다. 생각할수록 절망적인 상황이 인생길입니다. 사람의 기본 정서는 절망이요 어둠입니다. 시기요 질투입니다. 그런데, 어떻게 찬양이 되겠습니까?
We have been blessed to praise the Lord. Without grace, no one can praise the Lord. Without grace, life is but a tragedy. The basic pathos of sinful humans are despair and darkness. How can humans open their mouths and praise the Lord?
하늘을 바라보는 삶으로 축복 받았습니다. 하늘을 볼 줄 모르면 찬양할 수 없습니다. 동물들이 찬양을 못하는 이유도 여기 있습니다. 그들은 하늘을 볼 줄 모릅니다.
We have been blessed to open our eyes and see the heaven. If not seeing the heaven, we cannot praise. Animals cannot; they do not see the heaven.
찬송은 그 자체로 기적입니다. 우리가 찬송할 수 있다면 이미 회복은 시작된 것입니다. 절망 가운데서도 찬양이 있다면 우리는 승리할 수 있습니다.
Praise itself is miracle. If we can praise, recovery is already started. If we can praise even in the failure, we can overcome.
한국에서 총각으로 목회할 때입니다. 어떤 건장한 청년과 함께 짐차를 몰고 길을 가던 밤중이었습니다. 갑자기 차가 진흙 창에 빠져 헤어 나오지 못하게 되었습니다. 두 시간 가까지 땀을 흘리며 수고했지만 아무런 진전이 나지를 않았습니다. 가까운 동네에 가서 삽을 빌어다가 이것저것도 다 해 보았지만 문제는 그대로였습니다.
It was when I ministered a church in a countryside in Korea. I was with a young man driving a pick-up truck, carrying church stuffs. All of a sudden, the vehicle was put into a mud hole. He and I did all the best over 2 hours for nothing. We borrowed some instruments from the near village. Everything was not changed.
갑자기 그 청년이 땅바닥에 주저앉았습니다. "전도사님, 앉으시지요?“ 안 호주머니에서 무얼 꺼냈습니다. 하모니카였습니다. 어둔 밤, 반딧불이 별똥처럼 흘러가는 깊은 시골 논둑길에 앉아 그 청년은 하모니카로 찬송을 연주했습니다. 나는 그 멜로디를 따라 찬양하기 시작했습니다. 그러자, 어찌된 일인지 걱정과 근심이 사라졌습니다.
The young man sat down and said to me, "Minister, please sit down here." He pulled out something from his bosom. It was harmonycar. He played some hymns in the deep night, insects flying and winds blowing. I followed his melody. And the worry and care were gone away!
언제 어떻게 우리가 그 차를 꺼냈는지 내 기억에는 전혀 없습니다. 어떻게 해서든 빠져나왔겠지요. 그러니까 내가 오늘 여기 있지 않습니까? 다만, 내 분명한 기억 속에는, 몇 시간을 고생하던 자리, 아무런 진전도 없던 자리에서 땅바닥에 퍼질고 앉아 불던 하모니카가 분명하게 남아 있습니다.
I do not remember who he and I pulled the vehicle out of the mud pot. To be sure, we did something! But I do not remember, because it was not that important! What left in my memory clearly is the harmonycar that he played in the time of trouble.
이후 나는 아무리 어려운 상황이 와도 찬양하면 이길 수 있다는 사실을 계속 경험하게 되었습니다.
After that I had a lesson that even if we are in trouble, with continual prayer, we could overcome eventually.
2.
또한 여러분의 찬송은 여러분의 삶을 변화시키는 능력이 있습니다.
찬송하면 마음이 밝아집니다. 여기 능력이 나타납니다.
Praise has power to change our life. As you pray, your hearts would be brighter and happier. It is the time of power working.
마음껏 웃어 본 일이 얼마나 있습니까? 그런데, 찬양을 드리노라면 마음껏 웃을 수 있게 됩니다.
When did you laugh heartily? As you praise, you could laugh deeply.
큰 지진이 났습니다. 옥 터가 움직였습니다. 문이 다 열리고, 사람들이 묶인 쇠사슬이 풀어졌습니다. 이런 것이 찬양을 통해 나타났습니다.
Big earthquake happened. The jail was shaken. All the gates were opened, and the chains were released. All those happened through praising the Lord.
상황이 변합니다. 태산 같은 문제가 해결됩니다. 정말 기적이 일어나는 것입니다. 실험해 보십시오.
Situation changes. Problems like a huge mountain resolved. Really, miracles happen. Why don't you try that?
바울과 실라가 경험한 더 큰 능력은 그가 자살하려는 간수에게 복음을 전한 것입니다.
The more surprising miracle is that Paul and Silla delivered the Gospel to the Roman guard.
사람을 변화시키는 것보다 더 큰 기적은 세상에 없습니다.
There is no bigger miracle than change humans.
3.
여러분의 찬송은 어떤 사람의 삶을 변화시킵니다.
Your praise changed other people's life.
어떤 남자가 자살하려고 밧줄을 들고 산으로 가고 있었습니다. 그런데, 산 밑에 있는 오두막집에서 무슨 소리가 들렸습니다. 무심결에 발걸음을 그리로 옮겼습니다. 그랬더니, 거기는 가난한 식구들이 저녁예배 중이었습니다. 은은한 찬송이 흘러나왔습니다.
A man was walking toward a mountain, carrying cable, to hang himself there. And at the bottom of the mountain, he heard a singing. Unconsciously, he turned his steps there. A poor family was worshipping the Lord. He heard the sweet hymns.
그는 문밖에서 예배가 다 끝날 때까지 우두커니 서 있었습니다. 그리고 발걸음을 돌렸습니다. 갈 곳이 생긴 것입니다. 집이었습니다.
He stopped there, staying the time of worship. At the end of the worship, he turned his head to home.
찬양이 한 사람의 생명을 살린 것입니다. 어디 그 한 사람뿐입니까? 그 사람의 가정을 살렸습니다.
Praise saved the life a man. It actually was more than that. It saved his family, too.
현실성이 없어 보입니까? 실제로 여러분이 절망 가운데 그렇게 걸어가다가, 찬송 소리를 듣게 되면 발걸음을 멈추게 될 것입니다. 자동입니다. 그리고 바로 그 찬송의 능력으로 자살충동이나 그 밖의 어떤 부정적인 감정도 다 깨끗이 사라져 버리게 될 것입니다.
You could examine that. In time of despair, hearing the voice of praising the Lord, you cannot but stop and hear. With the power of the hymn, any negative feeling including the depression would be disappeared.
우리의 찬양은 우리뿐 아니라 이름도 모르는 사람들에게 소망이 되고 있음을 알아야 하겠습니다.
We need to know that our praise opens the window of hope even for the unnamed people as well as ourselves.
4.
그런 기적의 찬양이 되기 위해서는 “당신의 찬양”이 되어야 합니다.
To make the praise of miracle, it should be "your praise."
내가 그 기적의 주인공이 되기 위해서는 ‘나의 찬양’을 드려야 합니다.
여기는 ‘나의 고백’이 들어 있습니다.
나의 하나님께, 바로 내가 드리는 찬양입니다.
Do you want to be the major figure in the miracle? Praise your own one to God. It contains your own confession. To your own God, you are supposed to praise.
기도를 해도 ‘나의 기도’가 되어야 하는 것처럼, 찬양도 ‘나의 찬양’이 되어야 합니다.
As the powerful prayer is your own prayer, the powerful praise comes from your own one.
찬양을 마음대로 들을 수 있는 시대를 살고 있습니다. 인터넷은 참 놀랍습니다. 그러나 찬양은 ‘자기가 불러야’ 자기 것이 됩니다. 생각만 하지 말고, 입을 열어 실천해 보시기 바랍니다.
Today, we can hear praise very easily, esp., through internet. But you need to sing for yourself so that it be yours. Don't just think but open your mouth.
평소에 나의 찬양이 될 수 있기 위해서는 “예배 시간에 소리 내어 부르는 훈련”이 되어 있어야 합니다.
Train yourself singing the praise in worship time.
그렇게 소리 내어 부르는 찬양은 ‘두려움’을 몰아냅니다. 어둔 밤길을 걸어갈 때, 누군가 함께 있으면 좋습니다. 힘이 됩니다. 심지어 어린아이라도 업고 가면 한결 낫습니다.
The praise drives fear away from you. Walking in the night, if you have someone with you, you will be empowered. Even carrying a baby on you back helps.
그런 어린아이도 없으면 어떻게 할까? 찬양하면 됩니다. 찬양은 어떤 사람이 줄 수 있는 힘보다 더 큰 능력을 줍니다.
What if there is no one? You could praise. Praise brings forth power much greater than any human being.
그냥 노래 불러서 얻는 심리적 위안 그런 정도가 아닙니다. 찬양하면 마귀가 물러갑니다. 마귀가 얼씬하지 못합니다. 대신 천사들이 동행합니다.
The power is not just like psychological comfort. As you praise, demons fall down. Instead, angels help you.
천사의 큰 기능 가운데 하나는 ‘찬양’하는 일입니다. 그러므로 우리가 찬양드릴 때, 천사가 우리 곁에 와서 ‘화음’을 넣어준다는 사실을 알아야겠습니다.
One of the most important functions of angels is to praise. We need to know, therefore, when we praise, angels come and empower us.
5.
찬양이 살아있는 예배를 드려야겠습니다.
We need to worship God with powerful praise.
예배는 삶의 핵심입니다. 예배에서 찬양이 회복되면, 삶에 찬양은 자연스럽게 나타납니다. 금문교회 예배의 찬양을 위해 기도하고 힘을 합해 주십시오. 여러분 중에 찬양에 달란트가 있거나, 마음이 뜨거운 분은 적극적으로 참여해 주십시오.
Worship is the core of life. If praise is powerful in your worship, praise will appear naturally in your life. Help church members in making gracious worship. Participate positively in worship with musical instrument or voice.
악기로, 목소리로, 찬양팀 저녁 한 끼 사 주는 것으로, 간식, 커피 준비해 주시는 것으로, 그렇게 참여해 주십시오.
You may join the musical teams with time, supporting meals, coffee, snacks, and so on.
찬양하는 일이 너무 좋고, 찬양을 통해 하나님께 영광을 돌려드리게 되면, 당신의 삶은 이미 성공입니다.
If you enjoy praising and glorify the Lord with the praise, your life is already successful.
찬양이 살아있는 금문교회 예배를 만들어 갑시다. Let us work together in making the beautiful church in praise.

가장 귀한 것은 '항상성'을 지니고 있습니다. 따라서 찬양은 항상 드려야 합니다.
Most important and precious ones are not conditioned with time. Praise is to be made always.
때를 기다린다는 것은 동서고금을 막론하고 ‘지혜’에 속했습니다. 그러나 그것은 바른 태도가 아닙니다. 때는 우리의 것이 아니기 때문입니다.
Peoples in the East and the West have regarded waiting for time as wisdom. But it is not proper; time does not belong to humans.
“때와 기한은 너희의 알 바 아니요...” 이것이 예수님께서 주신 말씀입니다. 우리가 알 바가 아닌 것은 알 필요가 없습니다.
Jesus said, "Time and season are not of your control." We are not permitted to know about time.
가장 중요한 것은 우리가 기다려야 할 필요가 없습니다. 우리 곁에 있기 때문입니다. 속담에 “등잔 밑이 어둡다” 했습니다. 이것은 언제 어디서나 통하는 진리입니다. “하나님께서는 늘 곁에 계십니다.” 누구든지 예수님을 영접하기만 하면, 거기서부터 행복이 시작, 불행은 끝입니다.
We don't have to wait for most important things; they are near to us. Korean proverbs says, "It is darker under lamp." This is a truth covering any time and place. God is near to us always. At the very moment of welcoming Jesus, happiness starts and misfortune stops.
언제나 사랑입니다.
언제나 믿음입니다.
언제나 소망입니다.
Love is always; faith is endless; hope is forever.
항상 기뻐하라. 쉬지 말고 기도하라. 범사에 감사하라. 이 세 가지는 '항상성'입니다.
Have joy in all the times, pray continuously, give thanks in all circumstances. There is no time limit for these.
찬양도 항상성입니다.
언제든지 낙심하지 말아야 합니다.
늘 찬송하면서 주께 더 나가기 원합니다.
Praise is one of a kind. We shall not be disappointed at any circumstances. We want to go nearer to Jesus as we praise him.
바울과 실라는 심지어 감옥에서도 찬양했습니다.
그랬더니 '기적'이 일어났습니다.
Even in the jail, Paul and Silla praised the Lord; and they experienced the mirace.
기억하십시오: 찬송생활의 능력은 "기적"으로 나타납니다.
Remember, the power of praise comes to us as "miracle."
버클리의 어떤 마켓에서 내 아내는 입에 노래를 달고 있었습니다. 어떤 여자가 내내 따라왔습니다. 둘 다 의식이 없었습니다. 노래는 끝났고, 그 여자가 비로소 물었습니다. 누구냐고. 내가 왜 당신을 따라왔느냐고.
My wife was singing silently at a certain market in Berkeley. A woman followed my wife. Both were unconscious. Sone ended, and the woman asked my wife: who are you? Did you know why I followed you?
찬양이 낳는 것은 어떤 과학도 예측할 수 없는 놀라운 기적입니다.
과학은 똑같은 조건에서는 똑같은 결과를 얻을 수 있습니다.
그러나, 찬양생활은, 언제나 다른 조건에서도 찬양할 수 있습니다.
그러면, 늘 다른 결과가 나타납니다. 예상 밖의 기적입니다. 그런데 그 기적은 부정적인 것이 아닙니다. 늘 기쁘고 감사한 기적입니다.
What praise brings forth is miracle any science cannot expect. Science gets the same result at a same given circumstance. But you could praise the Lord the same in any different situations. And you could enjoy the grace of the Lord. The miracles you would enjoy will be very positive. You could give thanks for all circumstances.
나는 여러분이 입에 찬양을 달고 살기를 축복합니다. 아멘.

기도 Prayer
은혜와 사랑의 주님. 부족한 저희들의 입술에 찬양을 주시니 감사드립니다. 일평생 살면서 주님 앞에 온전한 예배를 드리게 하옵소서. 늘 찬양 드리며 승리하게 하옵소서. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘. O God of grace and love. We thank you for giving our lips the praise. Help us praise you through our lives. Make us overcome all the trouble and get victory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
축도 Benediction
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ our Lord, and the love of God our Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
