There is a Dear And Precious Book


1. 나의 사랑하는 책
   There's a dear and pre-cious Book,
   비록 헤어졌으나
   Tho' it's worn and fad-ed now,
   어머님의 무릎 위에 앉아서
   Which re-calls those hap-py days so long a-go,
   재미있게 듣던 말
   When I stood at mother's knee,
   그 때 일을 지금도
   With her hand up-on my brow,
   내가 잊지 않고 기억합니다
   And I heard her voice in gen-tle tones and low.
   귀하고 귀하다
   Bless-ed Book pre-cious Book
   우리 어머님이 들려주시던
   On thy dear old tear-stained leaves I love to look
   재미있게 듣던 말
   Thou art sweet-er day by day,
   이 책 중에 있으니
   As I walk the nar-row way
   이 성경 심히 사랑합니다
   That leads at last to that bright home a-bove.

2. 옛날 용맹스럽던
   As she read the sto-ries o'er,
   다니엘의 경험과
   Of those might-y men of old,
   유대임금 다윗왕의 역사와
   Of Je-seph and of Dan-iel and their trials,
   주의 선지 엘리야
   Of lit-tle Da-vid bold,
   병거 타고 하늘에
   Who be-came a king at last
   올라가던 일을 기억합니다
   Of Sa-tan with his man-y wick-ed wiles.
   귀하고 귀하다

   우리 어머님이 들려주시던

3. 예수 세상 계실 때
   Then she read of Je-sus' love,
   많은 고생하시고
   As He blest the child-ren dear,
   십자가에 달려 돌아가신 일
   How He suf-fered, bled and died up-on the tree,
   어머님이 읽으며
   Of His heav-y load of care,
   눈물 많이 흘린 것
   Then she dried my flow-ing tears
   지금까지 내가 기억합니다
   With her kiss-es as she said it was for me.

4. 그때 일은 지나고
   Well, those days are past and gone,
   나의 눈에 환하오
   But their mem-'ry lin-gers still,
   어머님의 말씀 기억하면서
   And the dear old Book each day has been my guide,
   나도 시시때때로
   And I seek to do His will,
   성경 말씀 읽으며
   As my moth-er taught me then,
   주의 뜻을 따라 살려합니다
   And ev-er in my heart His words a-bide.
