'Twas on That Night When Doomed to Know


1. 유월절 때가 이르매
   'Twas on that night when doomed to know
   주 팔리시던 날 밤에
   The ea-ger spite of ev-'ry foe,
   온 제자 들러 모인 중
   That night in which He was be-trayed,
   주께서 떡을 가지사
   The sav-iour of the world took bread.

2. 천지를 다스리시는
   And, af-ter thanks and glo-ry giv'n
   천부께 사례하시고
   To Him that rules in earth and heav'n,
   몸 가리키는 떡 떼며
   That Sym-bol of His flesh He broke,
   제자들에게 이르사
   And thus to all his fol-l'wers spoke.

3. 이것은 너희 위한 몸
   "My bro-ken bod-y thus I give
   다 함께 받아먹어라
   For you, for all, Take, eat, and live.
   인자의 죽음 전하며
   And oft the sa-cred rite re-new
   날 기억하라 하셨네
   That brings my sav-ing love to view."

4. 그 후에 손에 잔 들고
   Then in His hands the cup He raised,
   또 다시 사례하실 때
   And God a-new He thanked and praised,
   주님의 얼굴 빛나며
   While kind-ness in His bos-om glowed,
   입 열어 말씀하셨네
   And from His lips sal-va-tion flowed.

5. 이 잔은 내 피로 세운
   "My blood I thus pour forth," He cries,
   너희를 위한 새 언약
   "To cleanse the soul in sin that lies
   영원한 언약 그대로
   In this the cov-e-nant is sealed,
   큰 은혜 부어주시네
   And heav'n's eter-nal grace re-vealed."

6. 이 잔을 입에 댈 때에
   "With love to man this cup is fraught
   주사랑 마심 같으니
   Let all par-take the sa-cred draught
   그 몸과 그 피 내 속에
   Through lat-est a-ges let it pour,
   영원한 생명 되시네 아-멘
   In mem-ory of my dy-ing hour." A-men.
