주 예수 우리 구하려
The Son of God Goes Forth to War


1. 주 예수 우리 구하려
   The Son of God goes forth to war,
   큰 싸움 하시니
   A king-ly crown to gain
   주 십자가를 따라서
   His blood-red ban-ner streams a-far:
   나갈 자 누구랴
   Who fol-lows in His train
   큰 환난 핍박 당하고
   Who best can drink His cup of woe,
   또 고통 많으나
   Tri-um-phant o-ver pain,
   제 십자가를 지고서
   Who pa-tient, bears His cross be-low,
   늘 참는 이로다
   he fol-lows in His train.

2. 주 예수 고난 당할 때
   The mar-tyr first, whose ea-gle eye
   저 원수 위하여
   Could pierce be-yond the grave,
   죄 용서함을 빔 같이
   Who saw his Mas-ter in the sky,
   또 빌자 누구랴
   And called on Him to save:
   저 순교자가 죽을 때
   Like Him, with par-don on His tongue
   그 원수 사하고
   In midst of mor-tal pain,
   제 영혼부탁 했으니
   He prayed for them that did the wrong
   주 따른 이로다
   Who fol-lows in His train

3. 저 택함 받은 사도들
   A no-ble ar-my, men and boys,
   주 성령 받은 후
   The ma-tron and the maid,
   큰 환난 고통 당할 때
   A-round the Sav-iour's throne re-joice,
   다 참고 이겼네
   In robes of light ar-rayed:
   그 험한 고개 넘어서
   They climbed the steep as-cent of heav'n
   저 천성 갔으니
   Through per-il, toil, and pain
   주 예수 믿는 우리도
   O God, to us may grace be giv'n
   본받게 하소서 아-멘
   To fol-lows in their train! A-men.
