1. 내 평생에 가는 길 순탄하여
   When peace, like a riv-er, at-tend-eth my way,
   늘 잔잔한 강 같든지
   when sor-rows like sea- bil-lows roll
   큰 풍파로 무섭고 어렵든지
   what-ev-er my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
   나의 영혼은 늘 편하다

2. 저 마귀는 우리를 삼키려고
   Tough Sa-tan should buf-fet, though tri-als should come,
   입 벌리고 달려와도
   Let this bless as-sur-ance con-trol,
   주 예수는 우리의 대장 되니
   That Christ has re-gard-ed my help-less es-tate,
   끝내 싸워서 이기겠네
   And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

3. 내 지은 죄 주홍빛 같더라도
   My sin O the bless of this glo-ri-ous thought!
   주 예수께 다 아뢰면
   My sin, not in part, but the whole,
   그 십자가 피로써 다 씻으사
   Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more
   흰 눈 보다 더 정하겠네
   Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

4. 저 공중에 구름이 일어나며
   And, Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight,
   큰 나팔이 울려날 때
   The clouds be rolled back as a scroll,
   주 오셔서 세상을 심판해도
   The trump shall re-sound and the Lord shall de-scend,
   나의 영혼은 겁 없겠네
   "E-ven so" it is well with my soul.
