If, on a Quiet Sea
1. 고요한 바다로 저 천국 향할 때
If, on a qui-et sea, Toward heaven we calm-ly sail
주 내게 순풍 주시니 참 감사합니다
With grate-ful hearts, O God, to Thee, We'll own the favoring gale.
2. 큰 물결 일어나 나 쉬지 못하나
But should the surg-es rise, And rest de-lay to come,
이 풍랑 인연하여서 더 빨리 갑니다
Blest be the tem-pest, kind the storm, Which drives us near-er home.
3. 내 걱정 근심을 쉬 없게 하시고
Soon shall our doubts and fears All yield to Thy com-trol
내 주여 어둔 영혼을 곧 밝게 합소서
Thy ten-der mer-cies shall il-lume The mid-night of the soul
4. 이 세상 고락간 주 뜻을 본받고
Teach us, in ev-ery state, To make Thy will our own
내 몸이 의지 없을 때 큰 믿음 줍소서
And when the joys of sense de-part, To live by faith a-lone.
