1. 어느 민족 누구게나
Once to ev-ery man and na-tion
결단할 때 있나니
Comes toe mo-ment to de-cide,
참과 거짓 싸울 때에
In the strife of truth with false-hood,
어느 편에 설 건가
For the good or e-vil side
주가 주신 새 목표가
Some great cause, some new de-ci-sion,
우리 앞에 보이니
Offer-ing each the bloom or blight,
빛과 어둠 사이에서
And the choice goes by for-ev-er
선택하며 살리라
'Twixt that dark-ness and that light.
2. 고상하고 아름답다
Then to side with truth is no-ble,
진리 편에 서는 일
When we share her wretch-ed crust,
진리 위해 억압 받고
Ere her cause bring fame and pro-fit,
명예 이익 잃어도
And 'tis prosper-ous to be just
비겁한자 물러서나
Then it is the brave man choos-es,
용감한 자 굳세게
While the cow-ard stands a-side,
낙심한 자 돌아오는
Till the mul-ti-tued make vir-tue
그 날까지 서리라
Of the faith they had de-nied.

By the light of burn-ing mar-tyrs,
주의 뒤를 좇아서
Je-sus' bleed-ing feetI track,
십자가를 등에 지고
Toil-ing up new Cal-varies ev-er
앞만 향해 가리라
With the cross that turns not back
새 시대는 새 의무를
New oc-ca-sions teach new du-ties,
우리에게 주나니
Time makes an-cient good un-couth
진리 따라 사는 자는
They must up-ward still and on-ward,
전진하리 언제나
Who would keep a-breast of truth.
4. 악이 비록 성하여도
Though the cause of e-vil pros-per,
진리 더욱 강하다
Yet 'tis truth a-lone is strong
진리 따라 살아 갈 때
Though her por-tion be the scaf-fold,
어려움도 당하리
And up-on the throne be wrong,
우리 가는 그 앞길에
Yet that scaf-fold sways the fu-ture,
어둔 장막 덮쳐도
And, be-hind the dim un-known,
하나님이 함께 계셔
Stand-eth God with-in the shad-ow
항상 지켜 주시리
Keep-ing watch a-bove His own. A-men.
