구원의 소식 손에 들고서
그 소식 널리 전파하여서
주님의 길을 곧게 닦아라
2. 거친 사막 또 늪을 건너서
밀림과 바다 높은 산 넘어
주저치 말고 힘을 다하여
주님의 길을 예비하여라
3. 믿음으로 그 길을 닦아서
약속의 성취 보게 하소서

1.Her-alds of Christ, who bear the King's com-mands
Im-mor-tal ti-dings in your mor-tal hands,
Pass on and car-ry swift the news ye bring:
Make, straight, make straight the high-way of the King.
2.Through des-ert ways, dark fen, and deep mo-rass,
Through jun-gles, slug-gish seas, and moun-tain pass,
Build ye the road, and fal-ter not, nor stay;
Pre-pare a-cross the earth the King's high-way.
3.Lord, give us faith and strength the road to build,
To see the prom-ise of the day ful-filled,
When war shall be no more and strife shall cease
Up-on the high-way of the Prince of peace.
