성경에 기록된 하나님의 말씀은 예수님에 대해 가르치고 안내해 주는 책입니다.
성경이 주는 진리는 우리 인간이 죄로 인하여 멸망과 저주와 영원한 하나님의 심판으로 죽음과 지옥으로
갈 수밖에 없는 처지에 놓이게 되었는데 예수 그리스도를 통하여 구원의 길을 열어주셔서 하나님의 은혜와 사랑을
보여주신 것입니다. 구약성경에는 물론 예수 그리스도라는 말이 없지만 그림자로, 비유로, 상징으로 하나님의
아들 되시고 이 땅에 오실 그리스도를 보여주고 있습니다. 오늘은 구약의 중심사상이 되는 성소의 모습을 통하여
예수님의 모습과 참된 믿음을 배울 때에 구원의 기쁨과 신앙의 확신이 생겨나게 될 것입니다.
첫째, 성막과 이스라엘 진영의 배치입니다. 광야 40년 간의 세월동안 이스라엘 12지파는 성막을 중심하여 동서
남북에 세 지파씩 진을 치고 있습니다. 즉 인간은 예수 그리스도를 중심하여 살아야 합니다. 위험하고 힘든 광야
같은 세상에서 살아가는 인간은 영원히 변하지 아니하시는 예수 그리스도에게 목표를 두고 그를 중심하여 진을
치고 살아야 합니다. 미국, 영국, 프랑스, 독일같은 선진국을 바라보면 입법, 사법, 행정, 교육, 문화의 중심에는
언제나 교회가 있습니다. 우리도 그리스도를 중심하는 가정과 국가가 될 때 이 민족이 세계의 복의 근원이 될
줄 믿습니다.
둘째, 성막 사방에는 울타리가 있습니다. 성막의 동과 서는 각각 25미터, 남과 북은 50미터(100규빗)씩 사방으로
울타리가 둘러 있었습니다. 예수 그리스도는 우리의 울타리가 되어 주십니다. 울타리는 보호하는 역할을 하는데
이 울타리 안에 들어가면 하나님은 우리의 생명과 앞날, 가정과 영원한 삶을 지켜주시는 것입니다. 주님은 암탉이
그 날개아래 새끼를 모으듯이 하나님의 울타리 안으로 우리를 모으셔서 축복하시고 은혜를 주시는 것입니다.
셋째, 성막에는 동쪽으로 유일한 문이 있습니다. 이 성막의 유일한 문은 동쪽으로 나있는데 동쪽은 아침의
빛이 비치는 방향입니다. 인간은 소망의 빛된 예수 그리스도를 바라보는 삶을 살아야 합니다. 예수를 구주로
믿는 개인과 가정은 어두움이 물러가고 하나님의 은혜와 축복의 빛이 찾아옵니다. 또한 하나밖에 없는 성막의
문과 같이 하나님께 나아가는 길도 예수 그리스도라는 문밖에 없습니다. 주님은 '수고하고 무거운 짐진 자들아
내게로 오라. 나는 길이요 진리요 생명이니 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 자가 없느니라'라고 말씀하십니다.
이 성막의 문, 은혜의 문은 넓게 열려 있습니다. 주님은 죄인, 천한 자, 가난한 자, 억울하고 슬프고 불행하고
병든 사람이라 할지라도 제한없이 다 맞이해 주십니다.
넷째, 성막 안에는 제일 앞쪽에 놋제단이 있습니다. 놋제단은 조각목이라고 하는 싯딤나무, 즉 아카시아 나무로
만들어 놋을 그 위에 입혔습니다. 이것은 보잘 것 없는 조각목 같이 쓸모없는 우리를 주님의 은혜와 은총으로
감싸주시는 것을 의미합니다. 우리의 죄악은 주님의 보혈로 감싸주시고 내 마음의 상처는 위로로 감싸주시는
긍휼과 축복을 베풀어주십니다. 또한 놋제단은 양을 잡아 제사를 드리는 곳입니다. 죄인인 우리는 하나님 앞에
직접 나아갈 수 없기 때문에 내 죄값을 대신하여 제물을 잡아서 죄를 사하는 절차를 밟아야 합니다.
예수 그리스도께서 우리 인류의 번제, 속죄제, 속건제물이 되셔서 피를 흘리심으로 하나님의 진노가 멈춰 서게
되었습니다. 구원의 은총이 예수 그리스도의 피를 통하여 저주와 죽음을 넘어서서 우리를 천국의 삶으로 인도할
줄로 믿습니다.
구약성경의 많은 곳에서 성소에 대해서 기록한 것은 예수 그리스도를 우리에게 알려주기 위한 목적이 있었습
니다. 이러한 성소를 바라보면서 그리스도를 중심하여 살면서 하나님의 보호하심을 입고 소망의 빛을 바라보며
긍휼과 축복의 삶을 사시는 성도들 되시기 바랍니다.
JESUS CHRIST, OUR SANCTUARY(Exodus 25:8-9, 20-22, Hebrews 10:1, 8-10)
The Bible is the recorded Word of God that is focused mainly on Jesus Christ.
The Bible also reveals the truth about the sinfulness of the human race that brings all
men to eternal fire. But at the same time it reveals the great love and amazing grace of
God. He created the solution to man's hopeless, sinful condition by sending His only
begotten Son to redeem the people from eternal damnation. The name Jesus Christ was
not directly revealed in the Old Testament, but most of the Prophesies refer to Him as
the coming Son of God and Savior of mankind. Through the word Sanctuary in the Old
Testament, we will learn about Jesus and the true meaning of having faith in Him. I
pray that all of you will receive the joy of salvation and assurance of your faith as you
listen.
1. The lay out of the Tabernacle and the camps of Israel:
In the wilderness the 12 tribes of Israel grouped themselves three by three as
each group occupied one side of the Tabernacle to properly place it at their center. This
gives us an illustration of the right way of living where Jesus Christ is at the center of
everything. This world is like a wilderness. During the time the Israelites lived in the
wilderness, they camped around the Tabernacle in the presence of the Lord. This
teaches as the lesson that Jesus Christ, the never changing Lord, should be the center
of our lives. In many advanced countries like U.S.A., U.K., France and Germany, the
Church is always the center of their political, social, educational, and cultural life.
2. The fence around the Tabernacle:
The Tabernacle was surrounded by fence having a length of 25 meters on its east
and west sides and 50 meters long on the north and south. Jesus Christ is like a fence
for us. Our lives, our homes and even our future are under God's protection and care if
we belong to Him. Like a hen that gathers her chicks under her wings, the Lord
gathers us inside His fence to enjoy His favor and blessings.
3. The only gate at the east side of the Tabernacle:
There is only one gate of the Tabernacle located at the east side, where the sun
rises in the morning to spread its light to the world. In the same way, we should
always look up to Jesus who gives true light and hope to this world. Anyone who
entrusts his life to Jesus Christ receives God's favor. The light of life shines upon him
and his home as darkness vanishes away. Just as there was only one gate to the
Tabernacle there is also one gate through which we can come to the heavenly Father
and that gate is Jesus Christ. He said, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one
comes to the Father except through me." He also said, "Come to me all you who are
weary and burdened and I will give you rest." Just as the gate to the Tabernacle was
wide open, the grace of God is available to everyone who comes to Him. The Lord
accepts everybody without exclusion-- sinners, the poor in spirit, the lonely, the
desperate, and the sick.
4. The bronze altar at the Tabernacle:
The bronze altar was made of acacia wood and covered with bronze. The acacia
wood illustrates our worthless condition but God's favor and grace cover us. The Blood
of Jesus covers our sins and by His wounds we have received comfort. The bronze
altar where God was worshipped is also the place where the sacrificial lamb was
offered. Since we are sinners, we cannot approach God so there had to be a sacrificial
offering for the atonement of sins. Jesus Christ was the sacrificial offering that
appeased the wrath of God when He shed His blood on the cross. The curse of death
passes over those of us who believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as our Savior.
Through the Blood of Jesus and God's saving grace, we were made partakers of the
eternal glory and eternal kingdom.
The Tabernacle was described in detail in the Old Testament so that we would
fully understand the incomparable value of Jesus Christ. I pray that you will all live a
Christ-centered life. Look up to the Tabernacle that you may enjoy the protection, light,
hope, fullness of the blessings, and grace of God.
