사랑하는 주님. 감사와 기쁨으로 주님께 나아온 주님의 자녀들을 영접하옵소서. 모든 죄를 용서하여 주시고, 은혜로 충만케 하옵소서. 예배의 처음부터 끝까지 주님 홀로 영광 받아 주시옵고, 저희들에게 한없는 축복을 내리소서. 주 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
O Loving God. Please welcome your children who have come to you with gratitude and joy. Forgive all sins and bless richly with your grace. May your name be glorified in this service, and give us your blessings. In Jesus' name, Amen.

시편 Psalm 95:1-11

오라 우리가 여호와께 노래하며 우리 구원의 반석을 향하여 즐거이 부르자.
우리가 감사함으로 그 앞에 나아가며 시로 그를 향하여 즐거이 부르자.
대저 여호와는 크신 하나님이시오 모든 신 위에 크신 왕이시로다.
땅의 깊은 곳이 그 위에 있으며, 산들의 높은 것도 그의 것이로다.
바다가 그의 것이라. 그가 만드셨고 육지도 그의 손이 지으셨도다.
오라 우리가 굽혀 경배하며 우리를 지으신 여호와 앞에 무릎을 꿇자.
대저 저는 우리 하나님이시오 우리는 그의 기르시는 양이라.
너희가 오늘날 그 음성 듣기를 원하노라.
이르시기를 ‘너희는 므리바에서와 같이 또 광야 맛사의 날과 같이 너희 마음을 강퍅하게 말지어다.
그 때에 너희 열조가 나를 시험하며, 나를 탐지하고 나의 행사를 보았도다.
내가 사십 년을 그 세대로 인하여 근심하여 이르기를
‘저희는 마음이 미혹된 백성이라. 내 도를 알지 못한다’

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker, for he is our God and we are his care. Today, if you year his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert, where your fathers tested and tried me, though they had seen what I did. For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways." So I declared on oath in my anger, "They shall never enter my rest."


예배에 성공한 사람은 인생에 성공합니다.
예배에 실패한 사람은 인생에 실패합니다.
Worshipping God decides your life.
If you worship God well, you will do well in all things.

사울왕은 멋지게 출발했습니다. 그러나 그는 실패했습니다. 하나님을 예배하는 일에 실패했기 때문이었습니다.
King Saul started successfully as a king. But eventually he failed, because he did not worship God successfully.

다윗 왕은 작고 초라하게 시작했습니다. 그러나 그는 성공했습니다. 하나님을 예배하는 일에 성공했기 때문이었습니다.
King David was humble in the beginning, but God made him successful, because he was a man of worship.

2006년 새해에, 나는 여러분이 사울을 본받지 말고 다윗을 본받기를 바랍니다.
I want you live like David, not Saul in this year, in 2006.

예배는 삶의 중심입니다.
예배에서 은혜가 관건입니다.
바른 예배는 은혜가 넘쳐납니다.
Worship is the center of life. You will be touched by grace in the best worship.

우리가 하나님 앞에 나올 수 있다는 사실, 하나님 앞에 마음 놓고 예배드릴 수 있다는 사실, 이것은 축복입니다.
As we are in the house of God, and as we worship Him with our hearts, we are in already under the blessing of God.

우리가 이민생활 하며 그동안 수고하고 애쓰고 잠들지 못하며 살아온 모든 것은 “예배”를 드리기 위함이었습니다.
The ultimate goal of our immigration days with hardworking was to worship God with the Truth and the Spirit.

이스라엘이 애굽에서 나와 광야 40년을 거쳐 가나안 땅에 이른 것은, 진정한 예배를 드리기 위함이었습니다.
The purpose of Israel's coming out of Egypt and passing through the desert was to worship God.

우리 인생의 목적은 “예배”에 있습니다. 다른 목적은 그 다음에 두어야 합니다.
Our purpose is to worship God.

2006년, 우리는 예배에 초점을 두고 “요람”을 제작했습니다. 2006년 한 해 동안의 예배가 기획되어 있습니다. 말씀과 찬송이 요람에 들어 있습니다. 미리 읽고 준비하여 복된 예배를 드릴 수 있기 바랍니다.
The main concept of the 2006 Handbook is worship. The worships of 2006 are designed with scriptures, hymns. You could have time for preparation of the worships.

예배드리는 사람이 가장 소중합니다.
예배드릴 때가 가장 행복합니다.
예배의 은혜는 평생 가는 보석입니다.
People who worship are the most precious. Worshipping is the happiest time. The grace of worship is a life-long treasure. 

지난달 30일, 프리몬트와 산타클라라에서 총격사건이 발생, 3명이 사망했습니다. 올해 48세의 J 씨는 프리몬트의 어떤 집에 들어가 어떤 부부에게 총격을 가했습니다. 그 후 약 4시간 후 산타클라라의 당구장에서 두 명에게 총격을 가했습니다.
On December 30, 2005, there was an accident of rifle-shooting, and three died. Mr. J, a 48 year old, entered a house in Fremont and an office in Santa Clara and killed people. 

그는 로스알토스의 한 묘지에 있는 그의 아내 묘 앞에서 자살했습니다. 그의 아내는 8년 전에 암으로 세상을 떠났습니다. 이 어간에 그의 우울증이 심해졌습니다.
After that, he committed suicide at his wife's grave. She died of cancer 8 years ago. He was suffering from depression.

우울증은 전체 인구의 10%가 앓습니다. 우울증 환자의 20%는 자살적 충동에 시달립니다. 우울증 치료의 가장 중요한 것은 ‘기쁨’입니다.
About 10% of the whole population suffer from depression. About 20% of them are possessed by the sudden impulse of suicide. The most significant one in the treatment of depression is joy.

사람들은 ‘기쁨’을 찾아 헤맵니다. 그러나 진정한 기쁨을 어디서 찾을 수 있을까요?
People look for joy. Where can we find the joy?

우리는 J 씨에게서 “예배의 기쁨”이 상실된 것을 안타까워합니다. 예배의 기쁨이 있었더라면 우울증을 이길 수 있었을 것입니다. 사람을 죽이지도 않았을 것이고, 자살하지도 않았을 것입니다.
Mr. J did not have the joy of worshipping God. With the joy of worship, he could have overcome the depression. He might not killed people and not committed suicide.

기쁨은 우리를 지으신 하나님 앞에서 얻습니다. 창조 목적에 부합될 때 기쁨이 옵니다. 어떤 기쁨도 창조와 다를 수 없습니다.
We get joy from God the Creator. Joy comes when we are in harmony with the creation purpose. Any real joy cannot come without the creation.

사울 왕이 앓던 질병을 오늘로 치면 ‘우울증’의 일종입니다. 정확하게는 ‘영적 우울증’입니다. 그는 기쁨이 없었습니다. 그래서 다윗을 죽이려 했습니다. 심지어 아들 요나단도 죽이려고 했습니다.
King Saul was suffering from a sort of depression: the spiritual depression. He was without joy. And he attempted to kill David. He even tried to kill Jonathan, his son.

그러나 다윗이 찬양을 연주하면 사울의 마음에 평안이 왔습니다. 다윗은 예배드리는 사람이었습니다. 그에게는 은혜가 넘쳤습니다. “여호와는 나의 목자시니 내게 부족함이 없으리로다!”
But when David played music, Saul recoverd peace in his heart. David was a man of worship and he was full of grace. "The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want."

지난주일, 자폐증 어린이 이야기를 전했습니다. 본래 만들어진 목적을 알지 못하고, 전혀 상관없는 방법으로 즐거움을 찾습니다. 이것은 병적 즐거움입니다.
Last Sunday, I shared a story of a child with autism. He does not understand the original purpose of toys, and he looks for joy out of the creation. This is a sick joy.

우리를 지으신 하나님을 알지 못하고 누리는 모든 즐거움은 병든 것입니다. 이런 즐거움의 끝은 ‘허무함’입니다. 아, 허무하다! 그런 모습입니다. 밤새 술 마시고, 이튿날 아침 느끼는 허무함입니다.
All the joy we have without God the Creator is abnormal. The end of this joy is sense of emptiness. This is like something they feel in the morning after being drunk.

우리는 자폐증 환자처럼 살면 안 됩니다. 기쁨이 없습니다. 기쁨은 ‘나눔’의 차원이 회복되어야 하겠습니다. 예수 그리스도 안에서 가능한 ‘성령의 교통하심’입니다. ‘성도가 서로 교통하는 은혜’입니다. 참 기쁨은 나누는 은혜입니다.
We are not to live with autism. We need to share the joy from Jesus; it is communication with the Holy Spirit. Real joy is to be shared.

진정한 기쁨을 회복해야 하겠습니다. 그 회복은 오직 예수 그리스도 안에서만 가능합니다. 예수님께 나아가야 하겠습니다. 주님의 음성을 친히 들어야겠습니다.
The restoration of real joy is possible only within Jesus. We must come to Jesus. We must listen to him.

“너희는 마음에 근심하지 말라. 하나님을 믿으니 또 나를 믿으라.” 우리 주님의 음성입니다.
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. (John 14:1)

“안심하라. 내니 두려워 말라” (마태 14:27)
Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid. (Matthew 14:27)

“이것을 너희에게 이름은 너희로 내 안에서 평안을 누리게 하려 함이라. 세상에서는 너희가 환난을 당하나 담대하라. 내가 세상을 이기었노라.” (요한복음 16:33)
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

예레미야 33장은 ‘회복의 장’입니다.
“그러나 보라 내가 이 성을 치료하며 고쳐 낫게 하고, 평강과 성실함에 풍성함을 그들에게 나타낼 것이며, 내가 유다의 포로와 이스라엘의 포로를 돌아오게 하여 그들을 처음과 같이 세울 것이며, 내가 그들을 내게 범한 그 모든 죄악에서 정하게 하며, 그들의 내게 범하며 행한 모든 죄악을 사할 것이라. 이 성읍이 열방 앞에서 내게 기쁜 이름이 될 것이며 찬송과 영광이 될 것이요, 그들은 나의 이 백성에게 베푼 모든 복을 들을 것이요, 나의 이 성읍에 베푼 모든 복과 모든 평강을 인하여 두려워하여 떨리라.” (렘 33:6-9)
Jeremiah proclaimed the restoration of Israel in chapter 33.
"Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security. I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity and will rebuild them as they were before. I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against me. Then this city will bring me renown, joy, praise and honor before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it." (Jeremiah 33:6-9)

죄를 사해 주시고, 병을 고쳐 주시며, 온전케 하여 주십니다. 주님 앞에 기쁜 이름이 될 것입니다. 우리 이름을 들을 때 우리 주님께서 기뻐하실 것입니다.
God forgives sins, heals diseases, and makes us whole. We will be joyful in front of Jesus. As he listens to us, he will be happy.

“나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라. 너희가 말하기를 황폐하여 사람도 없고 짐승도 없다 하던 여기 곧 황폐하여 사람도 없고 주민도 없고 짐승도 없던 유다 성읍들과 예루살렘 거리에서 즐거워하는 소리, 기뻐하는 소리, 신랑의 소리, 신부의 소리와 및 만군의 여호와께 감사하라, 여호와는 선하시니 그 인자하심이 영원하다 하는 소리와, 여호와의 집에 감사제를 드리는 자들의 소리가 다시 들리리니, 이는 내가 이 땅의 포로로 돌아와서 처음과 같이 되게 할 것임이니라. 여호와의 말이니라.” (렘 33:10-11)
"This is what the Lord says: "You say about this peace, "It is a desolate waste, without men or animals." Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted, inhabited by neither men nor animals, there will be heard once more the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord, saying, "Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, for the Lord is good; his love endures forever." For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before, says the Lord." (Jeremiah 33:10-11)

죽음을 무릅쓰고 가나안 땅에 들어간 이스라엘은 ‘예배’가 목표였습니다.
The people of Israel went into the land of Canaan with the goal of worship.

우리가 천국을 향해 한걸음씩 옮겨가는데, 그 목적은 ‘예배’입니다.
We go forward to the Kingdom of God, the goal of our march is worship.

천국은 질병이 없습니다.
천국은 슬픔이 없습니다.
천국은 이별이 없습니다.
아, 천국은 눈물이 없습니다.
In the Kingdom of Heaven, there is no disease, sorrow, separation, nor tears.

이런 나라 천국은 영원히 하나님께 예배드리는 나라입니다.
예배 속에 은혜 받으며, 예배를 그리워하고 기다리는 성도는, 천국 소망으로 마음이 한껏 부풀어 있습니다.
In the Kingdom, we worship God forever. We look for the Kingdom as we worship God with the grace of Jesus.

치료하시고, 고치시고, 죄를 사하시는 하나님의 은혜가 우리에게 있습니다.
생각하지도 못했던 기쁨이 넘쳐납니다.
God heals and forgives. We are full of surprised joy. 

자신의 회심을 기억하며, C. S. 루이스는 <예기치 못한 기쁨>을 썼습니다. 영어로는 그 제목이 <Surprised by Joy>입니다.
Remembering his conversion, in 1955, C. S. Lewis wrote <Surprised by Joy>.

옥스퍼드 대학과 캠브리지 대학에서 교수하던 그는, 하나님을 거역하며 살다가, 어느 날 “상상도 못한 은혜”를 체험했습니다. 예기치 못한 기쁨을 만났습니다. 그것은 ‘빛’으로 다가왔다고 했습니다.
He taught at Oxford and Cambridge. He was not a Christian. One day, he got a surprised joy. It came to him as a strong light.

그 빛을 만나, 그 빛을 따라 살았습니다.
그는 예수님을 알지 못하는 사람들, 예수님을 반대하는 사람들을 설득하는 글을 썼습니다. 그것이 그에게는 평생의 목적이었습니다. 
Having met the light, he walked following it. He wrote a number of books and articles with the purpose of teaching about Jesus Christ.

<The Chronicles of Narnia>라는 영화가 크게 각광을 받고 있습니다. 바로 C. S. 루이스의 책을 바탕으로 만든 영화입니다. 한국과 미국에서 동시에 관객동원 1위입니다. 신화적 소재와 구성을 빌어 예수 그리스도의 죽으심과 부활의 의미를 되새기는 영화입니다. 식구들과 함께 꼭 관람할 것을 추천합니다.
These days, the film of <The Chronicles of Narnia> is very popular. It was based on one of Lewis' books. It reminds us the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I recommend you to watch the movie with your family. 

이 영화를 보면, 어떤 한 줄기 빛이 내내 우리를 이끌어 가는 것을 느낄 수 있습니다. 그 빛을 따라가는 사람들의 얼굴은 ‘기쁨’입니다. 기뻐 소리치며, 기뻐 노래합니다. 기뻐 춤추며, 기뻐 외칩니다.
As you watch the film, you may feel a light leading you. As you follow the light, your face will be covered with joy. You will sing, dance and shout with joy.

사도 바울은 다메섹 도상에서 빛 되신 예수님을 만났습니다. 그는 예수님을 핍박하던 사람이었습니다. 스데반 집사의 죽음을 배후에 조종하던 사람이었습니다. 그러나 그가 예수님을 만나 빛 가운데 거하게 되었을 때, 그의 인생은 달라졌습니다.
St. Paul met Jesus Christ, the Light, as he approached to Damascus. He was a persecutor of Christians. He controled the martyrdom of Stephen. Having met Jesus the Light, however, his life was changed radically.

수도 없이 맞으며, 굶으며, 파선 당하며, 핍박당하며, 죽음의 위기에 여러 번 빠졌습니다. 그렇지만 예수 그리스도를 위한 열정이 식지 않았습니다. 어째서 그랬다고 생각하십니까? 누가 억지로 시켜서 그렇게 되었습니까?
He was beaten, he was hungry, and his ship was broken. He was persecuted to near-death several times. But he did not deny Jesus. Why? Was there anyone who made him to do so? 

아닙니다. 기쁨입니다!! 기쁨이 그렇게 했습니다. 기뻐서 그 길을 계속 갔습니다. 기쁨이 동기가 된 것입니다. 기뻐하여 그의 인생이 달라졌습니다. 악함과 고난, 슬픔과 괴로움이 동기가 되었던 삶을 청산한 것입니다. 그랬더니 인생이 변했습니다.
No. It was joy. Joy made him to do so. He walked the way with joy. Joy served as the motivation. With the joy, his life was changed. He gave up the old life with wickedness, suffering, sorrow, and unhappiness.

새로운 인생이 되었습니다. 예수님을 핍박하던 자가 이제 예배하는 자가 되었습니다.
He became a new human being. He was changed from an anti-Christ to a worshipper.

우리는 예배자입니다. 우리는 예배를 위해 찬양하는 자입니다. 우리는 기도할 때 두 손 높이 드는 사람들입니다. 우리는 하늘 문을 여시고 우리 기도를 들으시는 하나님을 믿는 사람들입니다.
We are worshippers. We praise the Lord for worshipping God. We raise hands high in our worship. We believe in God who hears our prayer.

우리는 빈 들판 벧엘에서도, 고난의 돌베개를 베고 누웠을 때에도, 살아계신 하나님의 음성을 듣는 사람들입니다. 천군 천사들의 호위를 받으며, 안전하게, 기쁘게, 감사하게 그 밤을 지내는 사람들입니다. 두려움과 공포의 밤이 아니라, 풀벌레 소리, 바람 소리와 함께 주님을 찬양하는 밤입니다. 변화되었습니다. 우리가 변화되니, 온 세상이 변했습니다!! 
We hear the voice of God even in Bethel, lying down with the stone pillar. We spend the lonely night with the angels from the heaven. The night has been changed to be praising night. We are changed; and the world is changed!

우리가 변하면, 문제도 변합니다. 풀 수 없던 문제가 자동적으로 해답이 되어 나타납니다. 문제 자체가 해답입니다!! 어떻게 생각하십니까?
As we changed, the problem changed. The long-time struggled problems are solved. Questions themselves are the answers. How do you feel?

금문 성도 여러분. 예배하는 기쁨이 우리를 사로잡습니다. 다른 모든 문제는 정말 아무것도 아닙니다. 그건 정말 아무것도 아닙니다. 찬양의 기쁨이 몰려오면, 그런 문제는 포말처럼 부서져 사라지고 맙니다. 다시 돌아오지 않습니다.
Brothers and sisters. The joy of worship overwhelms us. All other problems are nothing. With the joy of praise, worries will disappear, never returned.

모든 병이 치료받고, 모든 문제가 해결되며, 모든 죄를 사함 받는 은혜가, 예배 중에 늘 함께 하시기를 빕니다.
May God richly bless you: you will be healed, problems are solved, sins are forgiven.

2006년 한 해는 하나님께서 놀라운 일을 시작하셨습니다. 놀랍고 또 놀라운 일은 예배의 부흥이요, 예배의 은혜입니다.
God started new things in 2006. What is really wonderful is the revival of worship and the grace of worship.

교회 예배에서 은혜 받은 여러분은, 가정에서 가정예배로 은혜를 계속하시기 바랍니다. 직장에서 예배가 살아나기 바랍니다. 차를 타고 가면서도 말씀의 은혜가, 찬양의 은혜가 넘쳐나기를 바랍니다.
As you receive grace at church, you may worship God at home, too. May your worship at offices be revived. Even when driving, you can enjoy the grace of the Word and the grace of praise.

대화중에도 예수님 찬양이 주제가 되시기 바랍니다. 예수님을 주제로 삼으면, 그 대화는 성공할 것입니다.
Have the theme of Jesus praise. With the theme, your dialogue will be successful.

날마다 주님을 찬양하면서 살아가시기 바랍니다. 아멘. 
Praise the Lord everyday. Amen.

오, 살아계신 아버지 하나님께서 우리의 기도를 들으실 줄 믿습니다.
우리의 찬양 가운데 거하실 줄 믿습니다.
고난 중에도 기도하게 하옵소서.
슬픔 중에도 주님 앞에 나아오게 하옵소서.
모든 죄를 사해 주시는 주 아버지 하나님,
저희들의 기쁨이 되어 주시옵소서.
주 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
O Living Father God. We believe you hear our prayer. We believe you are with us as we praise. Let us pray even in time of trouble. Make us come to you even with sorrow. Be the joy of us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
